- Change price from £3 to £4
Updated pitch
I changed the image of the billboard to something more realistic regarding the feedback. This would make more sense with the budget as the original image was of a very large billboard
I also changed the slide about the price of the magazine. I increased the cost from £3 to £4 to ensure a profit.

Client Questions
- Why have you chosen this genre?
This genre has a particular core following in North London which is why it is appropriate. There is plenty of content to fill the magazine to ensure that readers stay engaged and loyal to the magazine. As there aren't many Jazz based magazines this could appeal to a niche target audience and there isn't much competition to worry about.
- How will you fund the magazine?
The magazine will be funded through advertisements on billboards and through social media to ensure that enough money is made along with the cover cost £3 of the hard physical copy. The online subscription will also help us to fund the magazine.
- How will it appeal to your target audience?
The magazine will appeal to the target audience of 16-20 year olds (hipster culture) as it is quite a niche genre that uses a statement about Jazz itself. It is independent which would appeal to their traits and individuality.
- Why did you chose this colour scheme?
I chose this colour scheme as gold is a recurring theme in Jazz with the brass instruments - Saxophone. Typically the lighting used for Jazz live performances is Gold. I used dark purple and turquoise green as well. Dark purple is representative of the night which is when Jazz is most alive and the green compliments the purple and also creates an atmosphere.
- How will you successfully market the magazine?
We will market the magazine through advertisement platforms, online and through independent newsagents. Additionally marketing would be successful in Jazz clubs and bars to encourage new consumers.
- Why have you chosen this USP?
Having an interactive focus is unique for the Jazz magazine and appeals to a younger more interactive audience. They are able to contribute more to the magazine and use platforms of social media to do so.
- Is £4 a reasonable price for your magazine and will you make a profit?
Originally the magazine was £3, and this caused concern. I have chosen to produce a 50 page magazine and increased the price as the target audience typically will spend money on live music performances therefore have the disposable income. Direct competitors were within the region of £6-£7.
