Learning Outcome 4 (U3): Be able to carry out post-production techniques and processes for an original media product to a client brief (M4, D1) These are my final double page spread and front cover sample pages - they have been exported as JPEGs to meet the requirements of the client brief so that they can be printed and sent online. Post-production tools and client brief (P5, M4, D1) Front Cover I used the gradient tool for the background to create a dreamy atmosphere as Jazz can transport listeners to this state of mind. The colours compliment themselves and appeal to my target audience. It is also quite a mature design, which again appeals to the target audience. This links to the client brief as I was required to reflect the vibrant music scene developing locally. I also used this tool as it reflects the creativity of music and blur between genres, which also appeals to the audience. When I took my original image for my front cover, I chose to use a music r...

Post-production techniques and processes (U3: P5)

Learning Objective: Be able to carry out post-production techniques and process for an original media product to a client brief This is my review of suitability The front cover is typical of the genre as the focus of the image is a man holding a saxophone. This establishes the genre and a subject within the magazine. The image is relevant as the subject is a north London based artist as specified in the coverline. This meets the requirements of the client brief. The image appeals to the primary target audience of 16-20 year old predominantly white males as the artist falls in to the same demographic. A potential weakness of the image is the cymbal might detract from the impact of the image, by taking out the cymbal the mood created by the artist in front of a sea of purple and turquoise would be more powerful. The background is a blend between a deep purple that represents the night when jazz is most alive and a turquoise green that is complimentary to the purple. T...

Image
Learning Outcome 2 (U3): Be able to plan and develop pre-production materials for an original media product to a client brief (P3, M2) MOODBOARD The moodboard contains images of jazz venues such as the green note that will be featured in the magazine. The moodboard also contains a night view of London, where the magazine is based. As well as a series of jazz artists and a colour scheme to represent the mood of the magazine. SKETCHED LAYOUTS I decided to have an image of an artist playing the saxophone because the saxophone is an icon for jazz. I decided to have spotlights focusing on him because it compliments the image and catches the attention of potential readers. I decided to have some pugs in the space, advertising the articles in the magazine to draw readers in. The title covers the width of the page and is located at the top of the page in "diskoteque" font. This causes the magazine and the brand to stand out to the public.           ...
