Image
Learning Outcome 2 (U3): Be able to plan and develop pre-production materials for an original media product to a client brief (P3, M2) MOODBOARD The moodboard contains images of jazz venues such as the green note that will be featured in the magazine. The moodboard also contains a night view of London, where the magazine is based. As well as a series of jazz artists and a colour scheme to represent the mood of the magazine. SKETCHED LAYOUTS I decided to have an image of an artist playing the saxophone because the saxophone is an icon for jazz. I decided to have spotlights focusing on him because it compliments the image and catches the attention of potential readers. I decided to have some pugs in the space, advertising the articles in the magazine to draw readers in. The title covers the width of the page and is located at the top of the page in "diskoteque" font. This causes the magazine and the brand to stand out to the public.           ...

Evaluate the response (U21: D1)

Learning Objective: Be able to pitch ideas on a proposed media product and respond to questions Below I will expand on the five pieces of feedback that the client gave to me. I will decide whether they are useful pieces of information, or whether I think they are not. If they are they will help me to develop my production further. Good research and rationales shown within the pitch I won't necessarily act on this further, however it is important to support all decisions through good research. Does it link too much to only live Jazz?  I have decided not to take this piece of feedback on board, as I did not feel that it solely linked to live Jazz. I have stuck with it as the Spotlights are associated quite naturally with Jazz and I couldn't find another. I also feel t...

Final Presentation Final Pitch M3: Understanding Feedback These are the five pieces of feedback that the client discussed. Good research and rationales shown within the pitch From this piece of feedback, I understand the importance of research online and having research to support my decisions. The client said more than once how impressed he was with the research I had undertaken. Font choices = Title font was good, but does it fit with the genre of the entire Jazz magazine. Does it link too much to only live Jazz? From this piece of feedback I understand that I need to look at an array of fonts and maybe produce a digital copy to decide if the fonts I want to choose compliment each other. I will look at different fonts and decide this further. Colour choices = Why did I pick those colours, are they vibrant enough? I understand from this that colour palettes are very important and I will along with the fonts, create a digita...

Will you want reach new audiences for the magazine? Is there a lot of new Jazz in London?  Moodboard needs to represent the remit of North London Who are the artists - they will be upcoming North London USP = How are you going to moderate the opinions of the online interactive section? Will you have enough money to create a billboard? Will you be able to make profit on the price of the magazine?  "Target Audience seems quite broad - how will you appeal to 16-year-old teenage hipsters and 80-year-old black men?" trendy to follow a genre outside of the ordinary- edgy the older audience followed jazz when it was mainstream "Do you have enough material to ...
